Problem free installation of your tank requires thought and preparation. Please call if you have any doubts.

Delivery Requirements

  • Ensure that your site is prepared prior to delivery and is capable of supporting the full weight and diameter of your tank across its entire base
  • Do not use road base for your site as the quality varies widely. If a raised bed is required we recommend either Crusher Dust (sometimes referred to as Manufactured Sand) or Brickies Sand with a retaining beam installed following delivery to ensure no “Wash Away”. A premium base is level concrete
  • Tie it down or fill with 25mm of water. This is your responsibility
  • It is purchaser’s responsibility to ensure there is adequate clearance through gateways, under carport, down pathways and under trees to gain access to site. In the event site is not accessible, tanks are unloaded at closet secure location. Relocation of product at a later time may incur a fee. Access is an important consideration.
  • The delivery vehicle might be a combination truck and trailer measuring:
    Length 19 metres
    Width 3.5 metres
    Height 4.9 metres
  • It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide assistance with tank unloading and positioning. Following is a guide.

Tank Installation and Site Preparation

To ensure a long trouble free life for your tank please follow the recommended methods of installation. If you should have any queries regarding these or other methods of installation please do not hesitate in calling our office.

Critical Points to Remember

  1. 1. Base of tanks must be supported across its entire area
(base support must remain flat at all times). The site
must be fully maintained throughout the tanks lifespan.

    2. Pipe work should not place any loading on tank wall
    (flexible coupling is best alternative).

    3. Overflow size must equal or exceed inlet size.

    4. Tank must be vented to prevent it being subject
to pressure or vacuum (leaf strainer or breather
    must be installed).
    5. Tie your tank down upon delivery.

Preferred Method: Natural Ground

  1. • Smooth level site, free of rock or stone, with diameter
    600mm (2ft) greater than tank.

    Alternative Method: Sand Base

    • 3” (75mm) Sand Base, with Retaining Beam
    (sprinkle cement on exposed sand).

Tankstands

  1. • Stand structure and decking must support full weight
    (1kg/1 litre of water).
    • Timber Decking should have no gaps greater than 1.5”
    (40mm).
    • Tanks should be tied to stand to prevent movement
    when empty.
    • Pipework must be supported on stand with flexible
    coupling to tank.
